Ethan vanderWilden

Welcome! My name is Ethan vanderWilden and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I study comparative politics with a focus on Europe and the United States. My main research agenda assesses how historical narratives affect modern political attitudes and behavior. My dissertation explores how parties use authoritarian histories in modern campaigns, and how this history can affect voter preferences.
