Ethan vanderWilden

Welcome! My name is Ethan vanderWilden. I will be starting as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Poltical Science at the University of Utah in July 2026. My research examines the role of the past in shaping modern political attitudes and behaviors connected to democratic backsliding and inter-group prejudice. My work has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, British Journal of Political Science, and Comparative Political Studies, among others.
